Petersham Park
Petersham Park is an urban park located in the Inner West of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The park is characterised by well established avenues of Brush Box and Camphor Laurel trees.
Facilities in Petersham Park include a cricket oval, a rotunda, a children's playground, and the Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre. The oval is used for cricket in the summer months and baseball in winter.[1]
There are weekly visits to the park by the Inner West Council initiative called the Magic Yellow Bus, which offers free activities for kids 6 and under.[2]
History
[edit]Previously a part of William Charles Wentworth's estate, Petersham Park was officially opened on 28 September Petersham Cricket Club has played at the park since the s.[3]
Originally part of the Petersham Town Hall, the ANZAC Memorial gates at the Brighton Street entrance to the park were re-erected in their current location in [4]

My experience in the pool
Petersham Pool, in Sydney’s inner west, had its name changed a few years ago to slang för rumpa särskilt på brittisk engelska Durack Aquatic Centre. Now, the great thing about the pool in Petersham is that, if you’re like me and went, “Fanny who?”, they provide a potted history of her swimming achievements on little data plaques that line the wall outside the aquatic centre.
I’m sure anyone who stops and reads these will be impressed bygd one of the first women in Australia to compete in swimming competitions for her country. kvitto out the ladies swimming team costumes for the team photo in , too. No tracksuits or figure-hugging swimsuit in those days! But what an impressive woman Fanny Durack must have been, taking womens swimming to new heights.

Sarah Frances "Fanny" Durack (27 October – 20 March ), also known by her married name Fanny Gately, was an Australian competition swimmer.[1] From until she was the world's greatest female swimmer across all distances from freestyle sprints to the mile marathon.[2]
Life and career
[edit]Durack learned to swim in Sydney's Coogee Baths[2] in the South-Eastern Suburbs using breaststroke, the only style for which there was a championship for women at that time. In she won her first title, and over the next few years, dominated the Australian swimming scene.
