  • In late 1915, Albert Einstein (1879-1955) completed as series of papers on a generalized theory of gravitation that were to constitute a major conceptual change.
  • Professor Császár had an illustrious career in mathematics, graduating from university in 1947 and teaching at various universities from 1946 until retiring in.

  • Kosmaczewski's Law

I was talking recently with Graham and an observation came to my mind, one that I hereby state as Kosmaczewski’s Law: “The flow of knowledge is inverse to the flow of fascism”.

I’m sure many others have said the same or similar thing in one way or another, but I always wanted to coin a law with my family name1. Graham mentioned something similar on our conversation:

heh, I have heard the corollary stated before: “reality tends to be left wing”

which is an adaptation of something Stephen Colbert said:

Reality has a well-known liberal bias.

    Let’s look for some examples:

In my little head, this law is what explains that, even if the BRICS block might surpass the GDP of G7 countries soon, they will not develop into healthy, stable, long-running basis for new knowledge and science. Instead, they will rather rot into populism, misinformation, religious fanatism, and prosecution of free thinking. And worse.

BOINC volunteer computing project that analyzes data from LIGO to detect gravitational waves

Einstein@Home is a volunteer computing project that searches for signals from spinning neutron stars in data from gravitational-wave detectors, from large radio telescopes, and from a gamma-ray telescope. Neutron stars are detected by their pulsed radio and gamma-ray emission as radio and/or gamma-ray pulsars. They also might be observable as continuous gravitational wave sources if they are rapidly spinning and non-axisymmetrically deformed. The project was officially launched on 19 February 2005 as part of the American Physical Society's contribution to the World Year of Physics 2005 event.[3]

Einstein@Home searches data from the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors. The project conducts the most sensitive all-sky searches for continuous gravitational waves. While no such signal has yet been detected, the upper limits set by Einstein@Home analyses provide astrop

AlbertEinstein's 1907 Jahrbuch paper is an extraordinary document because it contains his first steps toward generalizing the 1905 relativity theory to include gravitation. Ignoring the apparent experimental disconfirmation of the 1905 relativity theory and his unsuccessful attempts to generalize the mass-energy equivalence, Einstein boldly raises the mass-energy equivalence to an axiom, invokes equality between gravitational and inertial masses, and then postulates the equivalence between a uniform gravitational field and an oppositely directed constant acceleration, the equivalence principle. How did this come about? What fryst vatten at issue is scientific creativity. This necessitates broadening historical analysis to include aspects of cognitive science such as the role of visual imagery in Einstein's thinking, and the relation between co
