John Carradine was born Richmond Reed Carradine. He was considered one of the greatest character actors in American cinema. He was known for his roles in horror films, Westerns, and Shakespearean theater, most notably portraying Count Dracula in "House of Frankenstein" (1944), "House of Dracula" (1945), "Billy the Kid Versus Dracula" (1966), and "Nocturna: Granddaughter of Dracula" (1979). One notable descendant of the William and Mary Ann (Blair) Grimshaw line was Matthew Grimshaw (their grandson; fifth child of William W. and Maria Wilson Grimshaw). Matthew was a physician who was educated in Kingston and who moved to western Canada and established his practice in the Peace River, Alberta area in 1914. The town of Grimshaw in that area was named after Matthew in about 1923.
