Jean-Pierre Louis Rampal (7 January – 20 May ) was a French flautist. Rampal popularised the flute in the post–WorldWarII years, recovering flute compositions from the Baroque era,[1] and spurring contemporary composers, such as Francis Poulenc, to create new works that have become modern standards in the flautist's repertoire.[citation needed]

Raajit K Rampal, MD, PhD, is the Clinical Director of Leukemia Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. He received his medical degree and PhD in molecular and cellular biology from Stony Brook University. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Chicago Hospital system and completed his fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Rampal is a hematology-oncology physician who specializes in leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms. He is a clinical/translational investigator whose research focuses on elucidating the genetic events that contribute to the development and progression of leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms, preclinical therapeutic modeling, and clinical trials of new investigational agents.

Rampal (born Rampal Singh Jatain on 8 September ) is an Indian religious cult leader and murder convict of the Kabir Panth religious denomination.[2]
He is a disciple of Swami Ramdevanand, a local seer, and Hindu saint from the Garib Das Panth sect. In , Swami Ramdevanand selected him as his successor, causing Rampal to quit his job as a junior engineer.[3] In , he and his followers established Satlok Ashram in Rohtak, Haryana[4] and would go on to start several other ashrams in Jhajjar and Rohtak.[3]
In , Rampal publicly objected to certain parts of Satyarth Prakash, a central book of Arya Samaj.[5] In July , a violent confrontation between the followers of Arya Samaj and the supporters of Rampal took place at the Satlok Ashram, leading to the death of an Arya Samaj follower.
